Channel stopped polling

Hi,

I have two channel configured that uses file adapter to pull files from a ftp server.The general settings in both the channel -FTP parameters,Processing parameters with a polling interval of 300 secs, are same.Both differs only in the specific settings - Content conversion parameters.

But the problem is one channel polls the server every 300secs,but the other not.

This is behaving like this for the first time because it used to poll regularly some time before.

I have checked for the queues,no LUWs.

Refreshed the cache in SXI_Cache - Delta refresh

As a temporary solution,i'm start/stopping the channel every time i saw files piled up in the server.The channel picks all the files seen in the server at the time of restart but after few seconds it fails to poll again,and a restart is required every time the file not picked.

I'm a newbie to XI.Please could anyone help me.

Note : the directory from which it is pulling the file is loaded with too many irrelavant files.Could this be a problem.

this is definately not the reason.

The problem comes because of connection parameters which you have specified in the FTP adapter. What did u select the mode as ? Connect permanently or the other option.

Try changing the option. It just might work.

There is no value entered.

But i got to know that "If you do not enter a value, the value from Poll Interval (secs) is used." in help.sap.com

So do i need to set some values literally?

Hey

If you set Poll Interval (secs) and Poll Interval (msecs) to null, the adapter is only called once.make sure you dont have both Poll intervale(secs) and Poll interval(msecs) null.

Hi Shanthi,

What is the value you have set for the Retry Interval parameter of your file channel? because there is a case where if you set the retry interval as null, the adapter will be canceled if any error occurs. please check.
