Hi all,
we are planning an upgrade project from APO 3.0 to SCM 5.0
I am wondering if it would be possible to upgrade APO 3.0 to SCM 5.0 directly.
Is there any critical issues to expected?
anything information is highly appreciated!
Regards,
Sally
I have a client doing a 3.1 to 5.0 upgrade.
It is not technically impossible. So, The technical part of the upgrade should not be of great concern.
if you search for the notes related to upgrade to SCM 5.0 you will find a fair bit where a 3.x version is discussed
functionally,
a stepped upgrade helps in order to imbibe the changes in two parts. but it is not worthwhile now since you need a time to go through the learning process. Make sure you check the release notes of both 4.x and 5.x since some part of the 5.x release notes will not talk of changes between 3.x and 4.x.
the thread kumar pointed out is a nice step by this forum in collective learning.
BW, there happens to be a bit of info here on the same topic

Dear Sally,
You can get more information from service marketplace at service.sap.com. You can go through upgrade guide and side effects notes.
You will have to select the source as APO 3.0 and target as SCM 5.0 (Also your platform details such as database and operating system).

Naveen.
