Hi to everyone! I have installed succesfully SAP ECC 5.0 with Oracle 9 on a Windows 2003 Enterprise. But I can't connect to SAP because I have a problem with my DB. When I execute the R3trans -x or -d command I have de following log:

Review your environment variables, it looks like there is one missing, the one that indicate to which SID SAP must connect.

ORA-00942 table or view does not exist.

I doubt that you installation finished successfully.

you should have a closer look at sap note 50088 for more details on this problem.

If the problem is 'ORA-00942 table or view does not exist' as simon pointed then wat actually happens is that while installation is on, it for some reason it gets stuck or if you happen to restart the system because of power failure or any other relevent reason, files created in sapinstoraclesapinst folder are recreated...the old files already present in the folder are changed to .bck or .old files and it so happens that these files create a conflict with the existing files resulting in error of this kind.

I finished my installation successfully. But when I startup de instance from the console, the disp+work is green, but after a few seconds its turn to "Stopped". I think that de database isn't up. So I check it whith the r3trans -x and I'm getting this errors.

logon as local SIDadm, start a command box and provide us with the output of

to find out what kind of problems you have during startup of disp+work.exe

look for the developertraces dev_w* and dev_disp in the \usr\sap\SID\DVEBMGSxx\work directory and provide us with their contents.

in general it is a bad idea to use the build in administrator user for anything.

You should (this is a recommendation from Microsoft!) create an individual user and put this one in the local administrators group. After you logon with this user you should disable the buildin administrator account.

background: the administrator user has a number of restrictions compared to other users in the administrators group, that might effect functionality.

your ORACLE_HOME variable seams to be wrong (d:\oracle\GD0 instead of d:\oracle\Gd0\920)

your db_ora_tnsname variable was missing.

Environment variables are typically correctly set during installation and there is no need to change them afterwards. Except your are following unsupported guides.

r3trans connects to the database using a operatings system user (OPS$<computer|domain>\<osusernam>.

this user is obviously not existing - maybe because you are using the wrong Windows User. Don't mix up local and domain accounts.

Just right click on My computer propertiesadvance tab look for ORACLE_HOME

it shuld be like D:\oracle\ora9.2
