How to change SID of an R/3?

Hi All,

I would like to know the procedure for changing the SID of my R/3 with/without changing my DB ID.

Can someone help me with different instructions and different files in which I have to midify entries?

Is this recommended ?

hi,

SAP Note 11692 has mentioned about this.

It is not recommended anyway.

Issue like RFC, CCMS Configuration will appear..

We have a recent aquisition of a company which has an SAP Server with the same SID unfortunately. So, we would like to know whether it is possible to change the SID of any one of them.

If there are any predicted performance issues, then we may have to plan for a reinstall.

Hi,

if you want to change SID you have to do a Systemcopy, that's the only way.
