Using word for Test notes?

Hi Forum.

I am trying to setup our SolMan 4.0 Sp9 to use a word document template as basis for test notes.

In IMG I have visited these nodes:

SAP Solution Manager Implementation Guide -> SAP Solution Manager -> Scenario-Specific Settings -> Implementation -> Optional Activities -> Testing -> Test Documentation (Notes):

1 Select Test Documentation (Notes) Editor

2 Define Template for Test Documentation (Notes)

In node 1 I have selected "Editor in SAP Knowledge Warehouse".

In node 2 I have followed the instructions in the IMG documentation:

7. Choose activity assign templates for KW Documents.

8. In the menu choose Goto -> Project Template -> Implementation Projects

9. Choose tab Documentation types.

10. Select docu type ST

11. Choose the desired activity under Document Template button.

12. Save.

Document type ST is now corrected as per my wishes and released.

When I go to the testing (STWB_WORK) transaction, and try to assign a note to a test result, I can only choose "AD Additional Documentation".

Anyone got any hints for me how to make this working?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Per,

the test note seems to be an attribute of the test plan.

Try this:

1. Go into STWB_2.

2. Either:

a) Create a new test plan -> in this case you have the possibility to select the documentation type to be used for the test notes in the <i>Documentation Type</i> group box

or

b) Check the test plan attributes (respective icon) and in there the <i>Defaults</i> tab. Here you see the respective settings made for the documentation type to be used as test note. You can switch and change your selections. This should then affect all new notes

This should solve your issue (tested based on SolMan 4.0 SP06)

Best regards,

Hi Doreen.

Many many thanks for your help...

My problem was that I was testing with an existing test plan.

Now it works 100%

All the best!

Have a nice day!
