Hi,
Can anybody explain or point me the configuration steps to be done on mail server side if I am going to send mail from XI ?? How XI will directly communicate with mail server ?? what are the information that is to be given to XI to communicate with mail server ??

you need to use SMTP adapter for this configuration.
you have to mention the interface used and transport protocol and message protocol involved.
