Hi Farid,

I suggest that you update your oracle patch to atleast 7.0.

9.2.0.1 is not supported and has loads of overheads...

Hello Farid,

memory parameters wont be of too much of help. Further the parameter suggested by Ben control the initial roll memory assigned to dialog process. While 1 is SAP suggested value and in your case also it should be 1 it wont solve this issue. This parameter is responsible for first step of memory allocation.

When a work process go into priv mode then it is is assigned dedicatedly to a single user and infact this is last step of memory allocation.

Solution:

You need to add this parameter to your profile

rdisp/max_priv_time

For rdisp/max_priv_time set te value to 600 . There is another parameter rdisp/wppriv_max_no set a suitable vlaue. Currently it is 3. Its value can be around one third of total number of dialog processes but this is your choice. We are following this one third approach in our systems.

In our case rdisp/wppriv_max_no was the clinching factor. But in your case I think it would be rdisp/max_priv_time.

There is an OSS note 79435 which explains about priv mode. It also mentions another parameter rdisp/max_debug_lazy_time.

Please do check this note.

Please award points if issue was solved.

All right let us know. Interested in knowing if the time parameter really helped. Also let me know what value of the parameter finally worked.
