change item catergory in items level of delivery

Hi Experts,

Could you please solve the follow ing issue.

I need to change item catergory to an item( item level ) for delivery .

how can i change item catergory of partiular delivery item.any BAPI function module or any other way?

Hi Jaya,

system picks the item category from the asssignment like OR+NORM = TAN

As you know OR is Sales Order Type & NORM is General Item Categoty group for standard item so TAN is Standard Item Category. You can change TAN & manually overwrite TANN in a sales order line item if it is a free of cost item.

But you can not change TAN to e.g TAX (Non stock item) or to other item category for which there is no relevant assignment.System will throw a message that item category xxx is not defined for this item.
