printerName vs. readerID

I am working on a middleware app that will transform AII XML into XML Script for label printing. As I understand it, the readerID attribute of WriteTagData is where the printer device is specified; however, there is also the printerName attribute of FieldList.

Can anyone tell me what the printerName attribute is for and if it conflicts or supersedes the readerID attribute? Or am I misunderstanding how the printer is specified in AII's XML altogether?

Any information is greatly appreciated.

Hi Stevens,

Your understanding is correct. The reader id of WriteTag Data points to the printer device.

The field list attributes are for the information to be printed on the label. It is not the readerID.
