I have DataProtector 6.0 and backup works great when I run backups from DataProtector cell manager.
How to setup same job to run from db13 scheduler?
Hi,
For what I understand you are not using BRBACKUP for your backups.
Then you cannot use DB13, the calendar works only with BR* tools.
Any other use is not supported.

backup_dev_type = util_file_online
<b>util_par_file=init<SID>.utl</b>

DB13 cannot be "modified", all command line parameters ( or are they called options? )have an equivalent on the init<SID>.sap
I have not said so.
init<sid>.sap contains parameters for BR* tools
init<sid>.utl contains parameter for 3rd party ( non SAP ) tools
if you call BRBACKUP with the options
-d
-m
- ...
all those options can be specified on the init<sid>.sap, only need to specify them on the command line if you want a different behaviour.
you are specifying the init<sid>.utl on the command line and you want to modify DB13 to add this option.
Do not modify DB13 ( as mentioned, it is not supported ), change the init<sid>.sap to include the parameters <b>backup_dev_type</b> and <b>util_par_file</b> and you do not have to specify it on the command line ( nor modify DB13 )
Hi Joe,
yes it works great for me.
I can run backup from db13 and from DP Cell Manager.
When running session from db13 you need to set session name and bar list on client to values specified in your DP Cell Manager.

Hi, you don't need to change initSID.utl file.
All you need is to create backup specification for SAP R/3.
Then on the client you want to backup export OB2BARLIST=your backup specification to backup job name.
Try search on HP ITRC since I lost link for the thread.
I would like also to find way to do that through paremeters in initSID.utl file.
Almir,
Did you got your backups to work?
I also use DATAProtector and I'm interested on this solution.
Thanks,
martin
