SAP WebDynpro ACF for Adobe

Former Member

We are working with the ADS delivered through our SAP Portal for the

Travel module. We have found that on client workstations using IE

(after enabling ActiveX in the browser) that the Adobe pages do not

display. But when we manually install the SAP Web Dynpro Active Component

Framework on the workstation, it works correctly.

It looks like the browser tries to download the ACF, but fails with a 404 (not found)

error, which we see in an http trace tool. I have verified that the

file is where it is supposed to be: \server0

\temp\webdynpro\web\sap.com\tcwddispwda\global\activeComp on the

server, but we keep getting the 404 error, page not found. Any clues

to what our problem is. We don't want to install the ACF manually and

would like it to install through the browser. Help please.

Hello,

I have the same problem. Please notice that the URL that fails with a 404 is /resources/sap.com/tcwddispwda/global/activeComp/AdobeControl.CAB, but the right URL is /webdynpro/resources/sap.com/tcwddispwda/global/activeComp/AdobeControl.CAB. Notice the leading /webdynpro/.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

BR

SAPJEECOR10P_10_10003466.zip fixes the above issue.

Applying the patches above will cause your UME to have issues -- you won't be able to make changes to users through the Portal, you will have to make changes through the VA. You must apply SAPJEECOR10P_10_10003466.zip Patch to fix this issue. Have not tested this patch yet.

I think you need both patches referenced in the note below:

See note 984868:

SAP recommeded the following:

We are on SPS10.

"Your system does not contain the already mention hotfix which

is needed to get arround a IE bug (we changed the URLs for the CABs

from relative to absolutes URLs and in your system you have

the old relative URLs).

The hotfix was released on 9. March.

So my recommendation is to get the newest hotfix for WebDynpro.

Please have a look into note 984868 for the details.

Let me know if this helps."

The Patch is SAPJTECHS10P_14_10003467.sca

This patch is suppose to fix the URL difference that you pointed out. We applied the patch and it did not fix the URL for us -- but it might for you as this is there fix for the problem.

I have actually tried to run this in IE on the actual Portal server as an administrator, so I don't think it is a firewall/user problem. But I will look around. Thanks for the response.

suggestion -

It may be athat due to the firewall settings or the authorizations, the user may not be able to install directly.
