PAR file upload problem

Former Member

Hi everyone,

I am new to SAP Netweaver Portal Development environment. I have installed Netweaver 7.0.08 installed. On this, I have created a simple portal project. I have its .par file with me.

The problem is that I cannot upload this on the SAP application server. I have SAP AS 5.0 version. But if I try to deploy the .par file or try to upload it through my Netweaver it says "Operation failed: Please make sure the server localhost:50000 is running."

I suspect the problem can be one of the following:

- the server does not support .par files.

- I am giving the username password wrong (in this case, can ne1 give me the default username password of the server)

Or is there ne other way I can directly deploy .par file to the server? may be by copying it in a particular directory? Or by uploading it thru console?

Please help...

Hi,

You can download the latest trial version of portal from this site :

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/downloaditem?rid=/library/uuid/cfc19866-0401-0010-35b2-dc8158247fb6

The sturcture of par file for EP 6.0 and above(Netweaver'04, Netweaver'04s) is following :

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/2d/b8b2426dbec86ae10000000a155106/frameset.htm

Under EP 5.0 there is no deployment descriptor(portalapp.xml).

Hi

You can always deploy par file by portal -

System Administration -> Support -> Administration Console

Please refer to following link

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/2d/b8b2426dbec86ae10000000a155106/frameset.htm

But if you are using WAS server prior to 6.20(EP 6.0), you won't deploy par file created

under netweaver devloper studio. The structure of par is different under ep 50.

Please award points if it helps you.
