XI Implementation

Hi,

Currently My Client is on 4.7 Enterprise version with Web AS 6.2 version. Can they will able to implement XI which can connect to SAP R/3 as they are looking to create some web-service which will replace their existing thrid party R/3 Adapter. I tried some basic steps to create Websevice from R/3 but i don't have get WSADMIN and SPROXY etc tcode avialble in R/3. If not then what should be roap map for that.

Is they need to do upgrade of R/3 system??
