I created my SLD using the SLD_Post_Install.pdf but I am getting the following message in the Vis Admin tool.
It says: Failed to collect SLD data. Failed to send HTTP data: 403: Forbidden. Please check if the target SLD system is availalbe and the SLD bridge is started there.
I set the HTTP and the CIM settings for the node SLD Data Supplier. I didnt ck https or mess with the certificate thing.
Hi Michael
I had written those steps assuming u r using Netweaver 2004 WAS 6.4 in mind
However I have also verified by having a look at SLD of 2004s ie WAS 7.0 now its almost similar
1) plz note that importing CIM model is essential for configuring u r SLD its not automatically imported u will have to click on
SLD--->Administration->content (import,export& Backup ) option->click it
The browser displays the Import Selection screen.----> Next to the Import File field, choose Browse.
To import the component information data, navigate to the following file:
<server>\usr\sap\<SAPSID>\SYS\global\sld\model\cr_content.zip (MS Windows) and then choose Open.
after u have imported CIM model u can proceed as mentioned above in my steps
and for ur query that u cannot see
RFC Gateway
server : localhostname
service : sapgw00
ya thats the difference of two version I also Could not see that option in 2004s actually it is shown just below Update local SLD ( sld / activate 😞 true in 2004
so thats fine anyways those values used to come Prepopulated in 2004 so I guess they elimnated it from the screen in 2004s as we dont change those values and hence the SET BUTTON also eliminated in 2004s
and ur other query
Namespace : sld/active SLD hostname objectserver : localhost
is shown on the same screen of SLD data supplier below ( sld / activate 😞 true (right at the Bottom )
u could also see it in Administration link of SLD at the Bottom
and yes in 2004s u cannot see DATA SUPPLIER BRIDGE : Running status for ur SLD data supplier
even i Cannot see it on my 2004s sld it was shown in 2004 sld so thats again fine u can proceed ahead
finally in Visual admin specify " localhost " only in ur host name entries , if ur using local SLD then write " localhost " only and not mycompany.com as same thing happend to me once it was not working when I entered fully qualified Domain name but when i entered localhost it worked fine
and try to use administartor user if u dont get test sucessfull with SLD_user
1)HTTP settings
Host name : localhost (not mycompany.com )
port : 50000
2)RFC settings
gateway host : localhost (not mycompany.com )
gateway service/port : 50000
save
3)CIM client generation Settings
host : localhost
port : 50000
user : administrator
dont check HTTPS
save
click CIMClient Test BUTTON
u should receive CIMOMClient object generation & connection test Sucessful message
I think u should be able to solve ur problem now

Awesome!
I think I had 2 problems, 1) the docs say that the CIM IMport is done the first time it is loaded, but I did it manually and it imported over 75K objects I think, and 2) after I finished the configuration was that the user I put in did not have the correct security setting.
After I changed the user to j2ee_admin it worked fine.
Thanks for all your help!

Asif,
Thank you. I appreciate it. I should have mentioned we have Netweaver 2004s.
I have the following questions. Please see my comments. I'm not sure we are talking about the same version.
>>just check below mentioned things, here I am assuming that u have already >>imported CIM model in SLD administration Import , export and Backup options
No I didn't import it. I thought i read that it was uploaded the first time the SLD was started, but I'll do it.
>>1) click on Administration link
>>verify that SLD status : Running if not start ur SLD server
Done!
>>2) on the same screen of Admintsration click Data Supplier Bridge
>>if u have configured SLD on the same server i.e if SLD is LOCAL
>>then set Update local SLD ( sld / activate 😞 true
>>or if SLD is on some other server then add SLD explicitly by specifying
>>that SLD servers credetinals
Done!
>>3) ensure u have following entries in the
>>RFC Gateway
>>server : localhostname
>>service : sapgw00
Under Profile -> Server Settings (pulldown) I have the fully qualified host name, e.g. mycompany.com
Were you talking about the RZ70 setting? RZ70 has the fullly qualified hostname and gateway and all boxes are checked.
>>4) click : SET BUTTON
I'm not finding this button. What screen is it on?
>>5)check if this entry is visible
>>Namespace : sld/active SLD hostname objectserver : hostname
What screen are you referring to? Profile -> Server Settings (pulldown)
>>6)Finally ensure that u have set DATA SUPPLIER BRIDGE : Running
Profile -> datasupplier (pulldown) has the fully qualified hostname and gateway.
Where does this show "running"
>>1)HTTP settings
>>Host name : localhost (assuming that u are using local SLD )
>>port : 50000 ( default http port it may be different for u depends )
>>user : Administrator ( j2ee admininstrator )
>>password : ******
>>dont check HTTPS option
>>save
Done, except the user is not j2ee_admin, its the sldds_user and the host is the fully qualified hostname, e.g. mycompany.com
>>2)RFC settings
>>gateway host : localhost
>>gateway service/port : 50000
>>save
Done, except the host is the fully qualified hostname, e.g. mycompany.com
>>3)CIM client generation Settings

>>click CIMClient Test BUTTON
>>u should receive CIMOMClient object generation & connection test Sucessful >>message
I need to do this!!
What do you think?

HI Michael
Logon to ur SLD as Administrator http:<host>:<port default 50000>/sld
just check below mentioned things, here I am assuming that u have already imported CIM model in SLD administration Import , export and Backup options
1) click on Administration link
verify that SLD status : Running if not start ur SLD server
2) on the same screen of Admintsration click Data Supplier Bridge
if u have configured SLD on the same server i.e if SLD is LOCAL
then set Update local SLD ( sld / activate 😞 true
or if SLD is on some other server then add SLD explicitly by specifying that SLD servers credetinals
3) ensure u have following entries in the
RFC Gateway
server : localhostname
service : sapgw00
4) click : SET BUTTON
5)check if this entry is visible
Namespace : sld/active SLD hostname objectserver : hostname
6)Finally ensure that u have set DATA SUPPLIER BRIDGE : Running
And then Make correct entries for SLD DATA Supplier in ur Visual Admin
logon to Visual Admin for ur J2ee engine
go to
Server -- > services--> SLD Data Supplier
in Runtime tab
1)HTTP settings
Host name : localhost (assuming that u are using local SLD )
port : 50000 ( default http port it may be different for u depends )
user : Administrator ( j2ee admininstrator )
password : ******
dont check HTTPS option
save
2)RFC settings
gateway host : localhost
gateway service/port : 50000
save
3)CIM client generation Settings
host : localhost
port : 50000
user : administrator
dont check HTTPS
save
click CIMClient Test BUTTON
u should receive CIMOMClient object generation & connection test Sucessful message
I Hope u are able to solve ur problem Now

So, in the Configuring Server Parameters section it says:
"Enter the name of the object server."
I assume that to be my fully qualified host.
