Hello!
We're implementing SRM 6.0 and SRM-MDM Catalog. In our landscape, we'll have different back-end systems (SAP and non-SAP)
working with the EBP. One of the goals of the project is to have a unique tool for procurement, and, therefore, we pretend to
integrate our products from the different backends in the SRM-MDM Catalog. Example:
Material in backend 1:
- Code: 123
- Description: Cable 15/5
Material in backend 2:
- Code: ABC
- Description: Cable 15,5
We'll import those items to SRM-MDM Catalog and apply MDM functionalities (matching, merging, etc.) to get the following
result:
Material in SRM-MDM Catalog:
- Description: Cable 15/5
- Mapped code for backend 1: 123
- Mapped code for backend 2: ABC
In other words, all items from the different backends that refers to the same phisical material will be imported to SRM-MDM
as a unique record with the mapped codes for each backend system.
The question is: Is this doable using SRM-MDM Catalog? I guess I can do this in the Catalog, but I don't know if the
interface with SRM would be able to handle this. How does EBP know which code of material should it import to the shopping
cart? Does the OCI support that? Will any developments be necessary?
By integrating our catalog, we'll be able to procure globally and we would also have consolidated reports.
Let me know if I wasn't clear enough.
Thanks in advance,
Gustavo.
Hi
You can do this by using SRM-MDM Catalog.
