Requirements installing NetWeaver on Linux EP 10 (Discspaces etc)

Hi,

well there is already a system from our client where is one Disc with the NW on it. Problem is that there has to be a backup system (perhaps SAN) and so on....

We have to tell our client that he has to pay a little more for having a backup system and so on. We are thinking of a Raid 1 (2 Disc à 72GB) and Raid 5 (4 Disc à 140GB) for taking care of the system working - especially SAP XI has to work.....

Therefore we had found a document where SAP told about the requirements for installing NW2004(s) on Linux EP by giving also the Disc-Size etc.

Does anybody has this and can send it to me?! The client just believes in documents of the SAP - that's the major problem!!

Pls do not link to the installation guides in the SAP-Help, we already checked these!

br, Jens

I don't think that this is a problem! This ensures, that in theory all SAP systems are installed and configured in quite the same matter. When doing support for SAP software, it is crucial to know where to look at. If customers would change filesystem layout or any other things, support queries would take far longer until they are solved.

And as Andreas already said, as your client already has SAP software, he/she already has access to the SAP Service Marketplace where all of there documents can be found. Additionally one may want to ask SAP implementation partners like REALTECH.

Thanks,

Hannes

-> which database are you referring to?

-> is it a "pure" java system or is there an abap engine too?

if you have installed the sap system you needed the installation guides and the corresponding sapnotes...all relevant disc sizes are stated in these documents...so: where's the problem? or are you having troubles accessing sapnet....which should work in the case you have a valid customer id
