Under Ur Folder RightClick --> Create --> Iview --> Iview Template -->
Select the Iview type as "url Iview" --> Give Iview Name,Iview Id --> Next --> Enter the url --> next Check Open editor --> finish

Now i need to add this iview to the main ESS overview page...DO i need to create configure services/resources in the backend ???
Can anyone pls tell me the steps to complete this activity.

Satish
Hi
You can go ahead and create a URL iview if ur URL doesnt require Single Sign On.If it needs SSO u should go for the configurations.
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
We dont need SSO for the external website. I have created a URL iview succesufully it works...Now i need to make the link available in the ESS overview page. so that when the ESS user logs in he can see the link/service on the overview page along with other standard ones.
How to make this URL iview into a service and assign it to ESS Overview page????
Thanks Guys,
Satish

Following steps might solve your problem
1. Create a HTML file with URL of the website you want ot launch.
2. In the Implementation Guide under Homepage Framework, create a new Resource that points to the HTML document that is to be displayed.
3. In the Implementation Guide under Homepage Framework, select Define Areas and open the area Overview for Editing and add the Resource just defined in the Area Description(External) and give the height of the External Description Frame
Thanks

hi satish.....
does this external iView need authentication??
if yes then u have to configure user mapping for the users.....
i think u have to use Application Integrator.....
chk this blog for it.....
