What does a Canonical Mapping Means in XI/PI? In what situation we will go for a Cannonical Mapping?

Pete,

It is a sequence of message mappings within an Interface mapping. with that you could canonicalize your message mappings, where you map from legacy to canonical model and from canonical to other legacy model. your interface mapping however would always be point to point, including a sequence of mappings to and from canonical model.

hi,

depends what you mena by that

some adapters (like JDBC) use a "canonical"

struture I guess (the same - general - for all jdbc adapters)
