Hi Guys,
During planning a production qty., system is picking up a PPM which does not exist in the system.
Does anybody know how this can happen?
Thanks
Kumar
Hi P Kumar,
How do you know for sure whether it is picking a PPM
It can also be a PDS.
Why dont you check whether there is any PDS for the PRoduct Location.

That's a great analysis.
Yes, it was having a PDS which was creating the problem. I deleted the PDS and now it is picking the PPM of the material.
When I went to delete the PDS I found it was a Demand Planning PDS. In fact that material was a sub-component of another header material which had some demand.
CAN YOU PLS. REPLY ME ASAP HOW DO THIS DEMAND PLANNING PDS GOT GENERATED AND HOW I CAN PRVENT GENERATING DEMAND PLANNING PDS IN APO.
Thanks a lot.

Kumar
Hi P KUMAR,
Check this link

There are two methods of generating a PDS:
(1)From an iPPE
(2)From a production version or a bill of material that you created in R/3 and transferred using the CIF interface.
This means you can use bills of material from SAP R/3 in the DP-BOM function.
It is not possible to create a PDS directly.
Hope this helps.
