Hello everybody
I started configurations to use MDM catalog in SRM and I have some questions about extration datas.
I instaled : MDM serve, MMDM Import server, MDM Console, MDM Data Manager and MDM Import Manager.
I have in my MDM console an Repositiry called SRM_MDM_CATALOG loading.
Now I need to extract customizing datas and master datas to this repository, I would like to know if is it possible:
Extraction direct from my SRM or R/3?
What needs to be done get this?
Thanks
Nilson
Hi Nelson,
There are three scenarios for extracting data from backend to MDM Catalog.
1. Using FTP
2. Using XI
3. Using flat files
Now the first two parts are automatic. You have to configure the backend system for MDM extraction and configure FTP in SRM MDM Catalog.
For more details about the configuration of SRM-MDM Catalog: please refer to the configuration guide present at this location
http://service.sap.com/ibc-srm --> SRM MDM Catalog and read the guide named under "Business Scenario Configuration Guide" .
This would help you to configure the scenario.
Best of luck.
Thanks

How can I generate XML files and import it to MDM import manager, Which transaction or report I must use in SRM or R/3?

Hi
If you can extract the master data from backend in flat file then its not a problem.
you have to change the file into a excel file and use the import manager where you have to use the type as "EXCEL" and backend system as "YOUR BACKEND SYSTEM" and browse for your excel file.
After that you have to map the source file to destination repository fields. And so on...
Just read the document in following link:

(require s-user id)
http://service.sap.com/ibc-srm (read all the documents). It would clarify all the points.
Thanks
