Dear Experts,
As we aware we have 8 Table Spaces
1. PSAP<SID)
2. PSAP><SID>700
3. PSAP<SID>DB
4. PSAP<SID>USR
5. PSAPTEMP
6. PSAPUNDO
7. SYSAUX
8. SYSTEM
In a production environment which table spaces are being kept in AUTOEXTEND mode and which are not being kept in AUTOEXTEND mode as a " BEST PRACTISE"??
Please suggest !!
Regards
PR
Hi Srinivas,
There is no hard and fast rule to enable autoextend if you are keeping track of the tablespace growth. Generally, the rule of the thumb is to enable AUTOEXTEND on tablespaces that grow quickly (user data / transactional data).
The system tablespaces are mostly constant (UNDO, TEMP,SYSAUX and SYSTEM) and do not require autoextend to be enabled.
Set autoextend ON on the following tablespaces: PSAP<SID>, PSAP<DB>, PSAP<SID>USR (If there are custom objects in the system which have high growth), PSAP><SID>700.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Nisch
