Copy - paste UI elements in WD outline - Bug in NWDS 7.0.10

Hi ,

I am using NWDS 7.0.10. In this version ,

when i say create a Transparentcontainer UI and right click it and create TransparentContainer Ui inside this..

I get something like ..

RootUIElementContainer

- TransparentContainer1

--TransparentContainer2

Now if I copy transparentcontainer1 and paste it again in RootUIElementContainer , I get

RootUIElementContainer

- TransparentContainer1

--TransparentContainer2

- TransparentContainer3

--TransparentContainer2

The Suffixes are not generated properly for the child elements. This occurs in repetition of UI id.. and hence an error saying.. exception in wdCreateUITree ... which i figured out in the end that it was because of duplicate IDs.

This occurs for all UI elements.. Strangely , this problem does not seem to occur in lower versions. Does it happen in higher versions ?

Hi Bharathwaj,

i am working with SP12 NW Studio,

the issue you mentioned above is not happening with the SP12(ie 7.0.12) build

You can upgrade the NW studio to latest SP, then you don;t find such error.

Hi,

I also faced the same problem. To overcome this, wat I did was, at the time of creation of UI elements, the id of the element shouldnot end with number. ie. If we are giving the last letter of UI element's ID as a letter, this problem never arises. But still, we cant use this method when we are doing Apply Template option.I also never seen these kind of limitation in previous versions of NWDS

This error is with PAT10 IDE. For IDEs above it is not present.

Seems to be some be some bug in PAT10 IDE only.
