Connection via the Portal to SRM 5 - BBPSTART

Former Member

Hi folks,

We have just upgraded our SRM system to version 5 and now we are trying to setup a link from Portal 7.

I have activated all the required services and performed the required steps for the Intergrated ITS to work.

When i try and test the service "BBPSTART" from sicf, it comes back with the following error message "500 Connection timed out".

Any suggestions...

Thanks,

Morgan Moodley

Thanks Atul for your links.

My problem has been resolved.

Solution:

We set "BBP_ITS_URL" to /scripts/wgate for 'BBPSTART'

Also increased the timeout values for the ICM parameters.

Many thanks.

Hi

<u>Check the setting of icm/keep_alive_timeout.Enter time (in seconds).

The parameter which you need to set a value more than 60s is icm/keep_alive_timeout.

Set a higher value.</u>

Hi Atul,

Thanks for your response.

Not all the users are getting a time-out, some of them can get into the system.

Is this a role related problem or a browser setting ?

We have also found that some of the services are still calling :-

URL http://hostname:8000/scripts/wgate/bbpsc02/!

Seems as if these services are still using the old ITS.

Any idea where do we change these settings so that we use the integrated ITS.

I did change table "TWPURLSVR" as per the guide.

Any ideas ??

Many thanks,

Morgan

Hi

<b>Please go through this -></b>

<u>Please change the parameter in "ICM Monitor". Go to SMICM.(Or you can change from RZ10 if you have authorization)

Goto->parameters->change

change the parameters

1>icm/keep_alive_timeout,

2>icm/conn_timeout.

Also i suppose you are using the Internal ITS. Timeout occurs because the application extends the timeout of *** milliseconds which might be set in these parameters. So try to change this value.

In case of External ITS,you can refer SAP note 727510 .

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/f6/3c0b0389cea34ba66f10d62b718a1a/content.htm

Also check the timeout parameter in the global.srv file.

~timeout sets the time span (in minutes) after which the session will be terminated in case of user inactivity. ~usertimeout (in hours) defines how long a SSO cookie (with user, password, client) is valid and can be used for a relogin to the system.

For details please check: ITS 6.20 / 6.40 Service parameter documentation</u>

thanks for your prompt reply.

I managed to get around the timout. Some of the users did not have all the required roles on the SRM system.

We are using the internal ITS. The keep alive timout was set to 300 milliseconds.

Thanks, i will try and have a look at your links below.
