Hi Venkatesh,

You can use the syndication server (in MDM) to "automatically" create the appropriate XML file and place the file in a pre-defined port. The port is a actually a directory/folder on your server. Each port is linked to a Syndication map to define the content and structure of the exported data.

XI would just need to listen to this directory to trigger the process.

hi

MDM is Master data Management.

Master data like (Material , Customer, Employees ...) is transfered from various systems to MDM.

When the Sending system is R/3 , it sends data in the form of IDOC.

so XI acts as a middleware between MDM & R/3 and thus it converts IDOC in XML format that can be accepted by MDM. Similarly the DATA send from MDM in XML format is converted to IDOC by XI and send back to SAP.

also for third party systems , when data is in some different format ( oracle, sQL , txt file etc.) XI acts as a middleware and converts data in XML format that is acceptable by MDM

MDM can directly accept EXCEL , MS ACCESS , XML foemat . for data in this format XI is not required

Sheetal
