not clear what the problem is:

- did the SAP MMC start (my understanding of the problem)?

- are you able to start SAP processes from there?

If you have issues with SAP MMC you have to:

- check if sapmmc.dll is in system32 and re-register it with

regsvr32.exe sapmmc.dll

- after you have to make sure that SAP service can be started and runs

you need to check contents of:

dev_wo

dev_disp

dev_ms

stderr*

hey eric

the message server starts but, the "Dispatcher +work.exe" service doesnt start up.

i have checked the dev_disp for errors but, i found none.

there is no port conflict also

what is the color and status of dispatcher in MMC if you start the system?

Former Member

when i start the system

strdbs.cmd first turns to yellow and later again i have to start the system where

the message service turns from yello to green and stops but,

the "dispatcher+work.exe" turns yellow and stops.

the status message which appears here is "dispatcher is running but message server is unreachable".

do you have dev_ms?

difficult to say, but it seems there is some info missing - dispatcher and work processes were running for at least for 18 minutes and they were stopped normally

Fri May 11 10:58:36 2007

caught signal 2

DpModState: change server state from RUNNING to SHUTDOWN

"caught signal 2" means that somebody sent "stop" signal to dispatcher (for example, via MMC)

One thing you can try is to patch the kernel with the latest . I can see that you have a very old kernel.

Thanks

is there any other option other than patching the kernel?

Patching the kernel is always reasonable recommendation.

However, I cannot recognize the problem with current patch - I see the system starts. Ok, you can patch the kernel, but if the problem would persist could you please provide chronological order of your actions and observations?

it looks like you dont have enough virtual memory...

hope you solved it anyway.
