bidder gets REGISTERED into a bid SRM 5.0

Hi all,

When a bidder loggs into the system in order to process a bid and clicks on the bid number, several options are displayed on the top part of the screen. The first one is REGISTER (the description text is: if you want to be informed of changes Pushbutton).

In our system, when a bidders pushes the REGISTER botton, and the purchaser modifies the bid, NO email is sent automatically to the bidders who have REGISTERED. Therefore, when a purchaser changes a bid, he has to send manually an email to the bidders. All the bidders will then receive an email (not only the REGISTERED ones).

So, we don't know what is the functionality of the botton.

Can anybody explain what is this useful?

Thanks in advanced

Mar

Hi,

Pls refer the foll link:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_srm50/helpdata/en/49/79c5377023be17e10000009b38f889/frameset.htm

Also for the bidder to recieve mails, you need to enter a valid email ID while registeration of that vendor and also need to configure the mail server(trascn SCOT) for that.

Hi Disha,

Thanks for your message.

The problem is that in the help.sap.com says that if a bidder press the REGISTER botton should receive automatically an email. In our case this don't happen.

The bidders receive other kind of emails but when a purchaser modifies a bid no automatic email is sent to the bidders, the purcahser has to send an email manually.

Thanks for your help,

Mar

Hello Mar,

I agree that this "Register" button is a little bit disturbing.

In fact this button was created few versions ago for the public bid invitations: this was adding the vendor/contact as bidder partners in the RFQ. This was changing the RFQ, so the buyer had to approve this change, and thus to authorize the new bidder to bid.

So it was enabled only for Public Bid Invitations (as states the online help).

Now, the button is always enabled (restricted as well as public): this is a bug for me.

You can use the BADI BBP_UI_CONTROL_BADI, method BBP_QUOT_UI_CTRL, to disable this field of restricted Bid Invs.

Second point: once registered, the system says: "You have been registered. You will be informed of BI changes via e-mail".

This is right, but it is not automatic.

This is not taking lead on the buyer decision: the buyer has always the choice to notify eveybody, only one contact, or nobody of changes made on the Bid Invitation.

So yes, the contact will be notified of BI changes, but this is triggered by the buyer, and not automatic.

There is no "Subscription" mechanism for email notifications.

For me, this is an error to enable this button for all Bid Inv types. Just for this you could create an OSS message, and then SAP Support should:

- either control the display of the button

- either develop this automatic email notification, but it is in contradiction with buyer features.

So I guess they would do first case.

Hope this is clear now.

Rgds

Christophe
