hi swamy,

both functional exp and domain exp are one and same. Its what has been done before SAP exp and can be called as Non SAP exp. we identify SAP exp as SAP exp only.

thanks

Functional experience is related the Process part and the domain is related to the operational part. In the Functional part you would draw from your experience to conceptualize and in the domain part you would actually make them happen.

Hi

Functional is Your Sales/Marketing Experience Whereas Domain is Your SAP Experience

Functional experience is related to your SAP (functional consultant for SD)..

Domain experience is what you have worked earlier to the SAP.

Hello Swamy,

Functionl experience is acquiring functional knowledge..

Now Functional knowledge means knowledge on business processes -It can be in

depth on a particular stream and an overall in others.Especially the

working knowledge, the hands on expertise. This is not only theoretical

knowledge, but practicakl experience with best practices.

For an orgainisation, implemanting ERP is a transition to best practices

across the globe.Renowned ERP software packages like SAP provides the best

practices in all domains, and it is the responsibility of the functional

consultant to select and implement the practices that best suit the

organisation .

The functioanl consultant should be able to assess the "as is " situation

and should know what all practices available in SAP and have a GAP analysis

and must translate the requirements to the software through configurations.

Domain Experience:

Domain Experience is the working of the particular domin you are working with.

If you had worked in JAVA for 2 years and you are going to work in SAP although you have got good knowledge about the functional part you have no domain experience related to SAP.
