Dear support,

I have installed XI 3.0 but when i try to execute transaction SXMB_IFR we get into SLD and runtime workbench but when we click on Integration builder or directory

we get message '<b> The requested client is unknown! '.</b>

I have installed correct jdk version and made hostfile entry as per the Note.

please let me know how to resolve this problem as i am basis person and i have to hand over this system to client.

Best Regards,

AjitR

Hi Ajit,

What is your JDK version? You should use JDK-JRE version > 1.4.2.

Also, is Java Web Start properly installed in your system?

Hi Ajit,

These problems sometimes may arise due to a patching problem. Not sure, can you just check whether the Java and ABAP stacks both are in the same SP Level?

Also, can you please check whether the entries in Exchange Profile are all ok? I mean, client, host and all?

Amitabha

Hi Ajit,

Go to http://<host>:<port>/exchangeProfile. Log on and you will be able to see some links on the left pane. These are parameters whose values are used by XI while communicating between different components. Check the client, hostname for Integration Server, Integration Builder and make sure they are correct (as in hostname is as the hostname of XI server, client is the Integration Server client etc.).

Amitabha

In exchange profiles host name are manitained as hostname of server and client is 100 which is same client we use for logging in, any specific setting i have to check as it gives me error as requested client unknown .

Hi Ajit,

Open your Java Web Start->Goto File->Preferences->Advanced and click Clear Folder. Now try to open Integration Builder.

Refer to this blog For references:

SMICM >administration> J2ee server -->Restart , i have restarted j2ee stack through smicm.

i have deleted temp files from java webstart from advanced option.

i have made entry in host file as

127.0.0.1 localhost

172.16.1.21 cyxi

where cyxi is my hostname of server.

i have installed correct java version

i am getting SLD and runtime workbench up and running

but integration builder and repos is giving REQUESTED CLIENT UNKNOWN

I havent left any solution suggested but i think problem is somewhere else.

Can anyone give solution?

Hi,

In Java WebStart disable proxies (set them to None). Download JNLP file and save them on desktop (right click on integration repository/directory link) and then try to open them directly.

It should work.

>>> 172.16.1.21 cyxi.sap.com

- not necessary

>>> where to download JNLP files

Download anywhere. right click on 'Integration Repository" ->Save As and then save this file and try to start your repository from by double clicking on this file.
