When do we prepare the documents like BP, configuration guide, functional specifications, custom justification i,e in what phase of implementation?

Who prepares them?

In what phase of project they are used and by whom?

Thank You

Business Blueprint - The purpose of this phase is to achieve a common understanding of how the company intends to run its business within the SAP System. The result is the Business Blueprint, a detailed documentation of the results gathered during requirements workshops. The Business Blueprint document represents the business process requirements of the company. It is the agreed statement of how the company intends to run its business within the SAP System.

Some of the documents of Business Blue Print are as under:

AS-IS: This is a document in which the client list the process carried out by him in legacy system & activities related to same carried outside the legacy system (manually).

TO-BE: This is a document in which it is listed out regarding what will be provided through SAP. Eg of TO-BE documents are as under:

1. Enterprise Structure of the organization (How it is to be structured?)

2. Customer master data (How it is manged in SAP?)

3. Material Master Data (How it is manged in SAP?)

4. Price Master Data (How it is manged in SAP?)

5. Sales Processes such as:

a. Normal Sales Order to Billing Cycle.

b. Rush Sales Order to Billing Cycle.

c. Sample sales Order to Billing cycle

d. Export Sales Order to Billing Cycle

e. Service Order to Billing Cycle.

f. Scrap sales Order to Billing Cycle.

g. Debit Meno & Credit Memo Cycle.

etc, depending on scenario of the client.

GAP Analysis: This is a document regarding the requirement of client, which cannot be mapped in SAP or is not in the scope of project.

Similarly in Realization Phase, we have document for Unit Testing, Integration testing, preparing user manual, updating Gap Analysis as some Gaps may be identified at this stage & some may be plugged, preparation of templates for Master data gathering for upload purpose & so on ...............

In prepartion for Final Go-Live, we have templetes for uploading opening mbalances & other relevant templates & so on ...................................

Hope this answers yor query.

Reward points if helpful.
