Error in SMTP in SCOT

Hey guys

i have configured alerts in my QA box,i m getting proper alerts in my alert inbox in RWB but in scot i see errors in SMTP,and ofcourse i dont see any alerts in my e-mail,i have been through sap help for scot and set the trace but nothing came up.

is there any doc. where i can cross check the settings in scot other dan SAP online help?

Ahmad,

SCOT is normaly a BASIS activity. Ask you basis team to look into it.

Thanx Bhavesh,well i had this idea but i wnat to give them some trace or error logs but i see only 1 entry under utilities->trace and that is the entry for my alert.but it does not say anywhere that there was any error.

in SLG1,it says the alert delivered to e-mail address,i crosschecked SU01 and have correct e-mail address.

i actually want to provide them with some error logs to make my case more strong:)

Did uou check ST22 for dumps?

Thats the thing:) no dump in ST22,guess i need to bug my basis guys.

now i m getting same SMTP error in Dev box too,and it was working fine earlier.

I eventually found error in Utility->trace.

there is an error in SAP system itself about some ESMTP.

No ESMTP Plug-In Is Available for SAPconnect

basis guys are looking into it and hope to solve it soon

Solved error by myself,there waz no active service in SMICM->goto->services for SMTP and coz of that i waz getting this ESMTP error.

Check the configurations as per the note.

455140 Configuration E-mail, fax, paging/SMS via SMTP.
