Release based on Product/ Customer combination

When releasing from DP to SNP, is it possible to split the release based on a Product/ Customer combination to a specific Distribution Centre?

Does that mean you want a Product - Location release (which is standard SNP release) but also want a customer split in it?

you might want to use descriptive characterisitics for this

this splits your product- DC also by customers and is useful in many applications for example in consumption by customer , CTM and PPDS etc

in order to define a characteristic as a descriptive characteristic, you must enter it in a consumption group. this consumption group can then be assigned to product and to release profiles

Why do you need to do this as part of the DP release to SNP rather than use the SNP functionality to do this?

Can you not release the forecast from DP to the Customer Locations in SNP. Then set up the transportation lanes to point the customer to his supplying DC location. By running the SNP heuristic for the Customer Locations this will then place the product demand onto the relevant DC.
