http adapter

Hi

I have one very basic question ...........I am not sure if it is a valid question. But plz bare with me.

Is it correct to put statement like this " http adapter will always in inbound channel side of integration engine" ?? Because http client will always request message and get the message from outbound channel of IE(probably either with rfc etc). If I am wrong could you please tell me the situations where http adapter will also be on the outbound channel of IE ??

hey

there is nothing like that,HTTP adaptare can be on both sender and receiver side.

we just use the HTTP client tool to test a HTTP sender scenario for e.g HTTP to File.

actually when we have HTTP sender scenarios we need to provide URL to the sending system whcih is generated by HTTP client test tool.

in real world we dont use HTTP client test tool in prd,its the actual sending system that sends at the URL we generated by using HTTP tets tool.

so we can have HTTP on both sender and receiver side.

and yeah every question is valid so dont hesitate to clear ur doubts on the forum:)

in File to HTTP scenario,its on the outbound side of IE

Thanks ahmad !! After reading your answer I have got one more doubt..........like on the receiver side if http adapter is configured there is no need of having url for http client. Plz correct me if I am wrong.

Hey

yes,if u have HTTP on receiver side then u dont use HTTP test client at all,instead u enter the server,port and path for the receiver system in the communication channel.

Hi Aamir,

I have a doubt here. I am doing a file to http scenario. So if we do not require an http client for receiver http side, what can we use as a receiver system for testing? What are the parameters we can give?

Not always inbound channel
