Hi Claudia,

Thanks for your reply. Please tell me whether Sourcing and E-Sourcing means the same. Then tell me whether E-Sourcing is a separate component or an add-on component for SRM.

Hi Karthik,

Sourcing is the term within SRM used for the Sourcing Cockpit (Sourcing for Reqs)

e-Sourcing is not really the term used in the SAP area. e-Sourcing covers RFx Processing as well Auctioning, which are both Business Scenarios under the Sourcing umbrella.

In general Bidding is part of the SRM Server (Bid Invitation), Auctions are covered by an extra component.

With SRM 6.0 e-Sourcing is covered by elements of frictionless sourcing, why there is documentation out there with naming e-sourcing. It depend on the version

you are talking about.

Claudia

Hi,

Sourcing (bidding engine) is part of SRM.

Live Auction has to be installed (java component)

Kind regards,

Yann

Hi Karthik,

addon: e-Sourcing is the software piece coming from Frictionless, which was

bought by SAP. The current product is an additional component but only offers

integration into SAP by file and XI.

In the SRM 7.0 release the bidding engine and the Frictionless tools will be merged

to a new product covering all functions. In the mean time there is the choice

using the Bidding Engine (part of SRM Server) or use the Frictionless eSourcing

ondemand (hosted) solution.

Thanks,

Claudia

Guys,

E-sourcing and SRM merger in SRM7.0 is an expected event. Till now it was a hosted solution and SAP started selling this without hosting. The integration with R/3 is now under ramp-up for contracts. There might be some integration possibility with SRM also by SAP for the contracts transfer from e-sourcing.

It is not an add on. There are some integration issues with that.

Hi,

Thank you Claudia and Rao.

Can you send me any links or documents to show that E-Sourcing can be or cannot be had as an add-on component of SRM 5.0. It will be more helpful to me.

Karthik
