VirtualProvider vs. BAPI

Hi,

I have to create a report on some custom data in R/3 onto the web, that is not standard BI Content.

Two possible options are ;

1. Create a Virtual InfoProvider in BI to grab the data from R/3, and then build

a query; or

2. Create a BAPI in R/3 and use Visual Composer.

Does anyone have any ideas which is the best approach and why?

It depends on what you want to do with the data: simply display it or allow navigation?

Simple display -> RFC/VC

Navigation -> BW

Either way of course you have to consider performance.
