Hi All,
If an XI using an RFC adapter (asynchronus call) sends data to SAP R/3, the RFC receives the data and starts processing, the SAP system crashes, does this message get flagged in XI as an error (remember the data was transferred to SAP and then the system failed and the message was not really processed).
Second question: RFC adapter to XI, the call fails, there will be a batch session in R/3 (which can be resent once XI is back up), I assume the message will not be in XI reflected as an error - is this a correct statement.
Thanks in advance,
Leanne

Hi,
Surely the application will send an error message back to XI?

Hey
if the file waz delivered successfully then u wont find any error message,it does not matter what happens to XI server after the file is delivered(as yours is async scenario it wont even wait for response)
and in case the XI server itself is down, then ur file wont even reach XI so u wont see any message.
thanx

If data transfer is successful from XI to the SAP system in the case of an asynch call then there will be no error in XI.

If Xi is down, the call will not reach XI itself and there will be an issue in the report itself . There will be no message in XI yes.

Hi,
I was under the impression a tRFC would send an application error back to the XI box and fail the message.
The SAP documents state the following: Delivery is only guaranteed for transactional RFCs (tRFCs), that is, for messages with quality of service Exactly Once (EO), or Exactly Once in Order (EOIO).
Is this not true?
Thanks,
Leanne
