Hi,
I'm running Sap R/3 4.6c on windows server 2003 + sql server 2000 - all on 32 bit.
I'm planning an upgrade to ecc6 - the upgrade includes also moving to 64BIT platforms.I wanted to know if this sap version (4.6c) supports upgrading to 64 Bit?
Regards,
Moshe
4.6c support 64-bit platforms. no problem, just make sure to use a 64-bit compliant kernel.
also check if SQL2000 runs on 64-bit or consider upgrading it to SQL2005.

Hi Moshe,
SAP - as stated in the sapnotes - does not support 46C on 64bit for a longer time - only if you're doing the sap upgrade right away after the upgrade to 64bit SAP will give you support..
PAM states, that there is support for Kernel 46D: MS SQL SERVER 2000 IA64 on WINDOWS SERVER 2003/IA64 64BIT

Hi,
We are trying to upgrade from SQL2000/4.6c (32-bit) to SQL2005/ECC6 (64bit). Also, we are trying to perform this upgrade on a new x86-64bit platform.
We have documented a rough plan for the upgrade process as follows...
1. Install Win2003 on new x86-64bit server
2. Install 4.6C & SQL2000 on new server
3. Perform homogeneous copy from PRO to new server
4. Upgrade to SQL2005
5. Upgrade to ECC6
Can you please tell me if this is sound? If not, can you please kindly suggest a better way to upgrade from 4.6c to ECC6 & to migrate from 32bit to 64bit at the same time?
Any comment from you will be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
Regards
