I'm doing a migration from ECC 5.0 MSSQL/Windows to ECC 5.0 Oracle

10g/Red Hat Linux 4 64. I installed the CI successfully. At the

database instance I choose system copy/migration. At the create

Oracle database step it failed with the message:

CJS-00030 Assertion failed: Component OraDbBuild: Context parameter

dbHome must be a valid ORACLE_HOME directory.

Oracle Home variable is set in the ora<sid> profile:

ORACLE_HOME=/oracle/ECD/102_64

I gave access 777 to this directory. I run the installation as root and

I set the ORACLE_HOME variable as root. Still the same error.

Thanks.

George

Switch to user ora<SID> and check if the variable ORACLE_HOME is set.

Hi Jim,

My error was because I chose the wrong option when doing the migration with a new installation, I chose the RELOAD instead of the R3LOAD.

Thanks George,

I was trying to run the export with <sid>adm....our unix group don't like giving out root.

Once i ran it as root it worked fine.....basically i think the problem is the my install directory did not belong to the sapinst group.

Thanks again

Jim

Hello George,

You should check to make sure that ORACLE_HOME is set in the environment of the root user.
