BW iviews in portal

Hi ,

I am new to SAP portal, I have a requirement to show BW report in portal,I have gone through some documents and found that we can do it in two ways ,

1) we can create a iview in the PCD using the web application template developed in the WAD in the BW

2) Publish the BW Web application template as iview into PCD from the Bex Webapplication designer.

please let me know if my understanding is correct , if so which one should we prefer ( 1st method or the second one).What are the advantages of one over the other.

Of course, easiest way is to define a query with BEx and then in Web Application Designer you define a web application for that query. It will generate an BSP-like page.

Later you can use this page in an iview in portal.
