J2EE Add In Disappeared from MMC in BI7

Hi Experts:

I am hoping that one of you have encountered such a case before.

Essentially, we had installed NW2004s Business Intelligence System.

We first installed ABAP

Created Client 100

Installed Java Add In for Client 100

After installation everything worked and was green.

However, when I bounced the system all the Java stuff seems to have disappeared.

It is as if that Java was never installed . MMC is showing all green but there are no Java processes in it.

I can see all the java data, but java is still not loading

I gather that one of the profiles is not correct and as far as that profile is concerned there is no Java.

OS: Windows Server

DB: Oracle 10.2.0.2

App: NW2004s/BI7

Hi,

Check this note.

916050 - Emergency shutdown of the dispatcher .

I could observe from the Trace files that the J2EE is getting started and immediately being shutdown for some reasons.

Can you check the Virtual memory settings for the Server.

and all std_****.out files.

Check for any error in all these files in the work directory.

HI:

You are right that the Instance Parameter should have appended itself but for some reason it didn't. So, I had to manually add the parameters through RZ10 (Originally the ABAP side was able to start up) I am also attaching the instance profile so you can tell me if I am missing something here.

Hi,

Virtual Memory looks good. So Try restarting J2EE engine from SMICM and observe all the New logs created in the work directory.

Virtual Memory is set to 30200MB.

You are right that the J2EE dispatcher turn on and turns itself off after about a minute.

HI:

Okay, So the Instance Profile for some reason didn't copy over the J2EE related parameters.

I added those parameters manually and rebooted the system. Now I can see the table of J2EE related items but now disp+work is erroring out.

Before, the processes were able to turn green however, that isn't happening either.

I tried to load the system with the old profile but that also seems to be not working

1) Goto usr\sap\SID\SYS\exe\run\sapstartsrv.exe

2) Click on <b>sapstartsrv.exe</b>

Specify SID, Instance number, J2EE profile path and click on ok.

Then you can be able to see java instance details in MMC

Hi,

Can you see SCS instance in MMC ?. If not try reconstructing the Service.

Execute the sapstartsrv.exe present in the Run directory.

If you can see the it is MMC and it is not getting started , check the profile parameters of j2ee.
