S&OP and Varaint configuration for DP

Hi,

I need to work with DP-CBF, BOM stuff. So, clearly it is dealing with supply planning(S&OP) and variant configuration(material type KMAT. When I look at S&OP and Variant configuration, both of them are huge. Could somebody who already worked in this part of DP tell me what parts of S&OP and variant configuration (MTO) are needed to be thorough with in telecom industry?
