Avoid to write the same material in diffrents position at the sales order

It is possible to not write in differents positions the same material.

Hi,

What I assume is you are talking about the following scenario

in sales order

Line Item 10.

Material :- abc

Line item 20

Material :- abc

You want this not to happen.Instead he should be restricted to again enter same material in second line item,

If this is what you want then in two ways you can control

1.Use field exit.In this you can write the code as read XVBAP MATNR and if it is getting repeated with previous entry then you can display error message.

2.Use userexit save document prepare in program MV45AFZZ.Here you can write same code.

As per me field exit will be better option,because as soon as he will enter the same material he will get error whereas in userexit it will be only at the time of saving document.
