Check firewall settings as suggested above. After restart Windows could have made there some changes. Shut it down completely for a moment and try starting up your SAP.

Goodmorning Soft,

Did you check if your Listener was started automatically after the reboot?

It is installed with the default "manually" setting.

If not, stop SAP and Oracle. Set it to "automatically" in the "Services" and start Oracle and SAP again.

Kind regards,

Hello Albert,

yes the TNS listner service is in automatic mode only and is running fine when we have restarted the system. However there is a problem with "OracleB60102iSQLPlus" service. Whenever we are trying to start, it gives an error like "couldn't start the OracleB60102iSQLPlus service on local computer: and Error 1067: the process is terminated unexpectedly."

Could anyone advice me on this ...

Thanks in advance,

chaitanya.

OracleB60102iSQL*Plus sevice is not needed. You can disable it.

You can use this service to access sqlplus functionality using a web browser.

as sqlplus is used in commandline mode only within SAP - this service is not needed.

Thank you Peter,

But what could be the problem now. I could start db from cmd using scott/tiger as sysdba... DB is mounted and opened. All environmental variables are fine and profile parameters as well. Network connectivity is good. Tried so many solutions but dispatcher is not coming up.

Any possible solutions to resolve this ... ?

Thanks,

Chaitanya.

-> plz check connection via

> R3trans -d (as user <sid>adm)

-> can you ping your sap server via ip address as well as through the hostname?

-> what about your hosts file? everything complete?

Hi,

TNS-12170 TNS:Connect timeout occurred

Cause: The server shut down because connection establishment with a client

failed to complete within the allotted time interval. This may be a result of

network/system delays; or this may indicate that a malicious client is trying to

cause a Denial of Service attack on the server.

Action: If the error occurred because of a slow network/system, then

reconfigure the "sqlnet.connect_timeout" parameter in sqlnet.ora to a larger

value. If a malicious client is suspected, then use the address in sqlnet.log to

identify the source and restrict access. Note that logged addresses may not be

reliable as they can be forged (that is, in TCP/IP).
