Material Determination

Hi Gurus,

I hav a product A, but i have done materail determination for product A with B, so when a customer comes and places an order for product A then the system automatically takes the product B, but there is few stock of product A, how can i sale the stock of product A.

Hi

there is flag in customizing of the material substitution reason (the determination is always based on ATP when in background mode).

You can also use a custom requirement in the procedure itself.

There is a problem in shwoing up the substitution reason during material det. in sales order. While creating the sales order, after giving the material A, material B is substituted. However, where and how we can see the substitution reason.

P.S we have configured the substitution reason in the material determination and assigned it in the material determination (proposed reason).

You will see the substitution reason code at line item level tab, guess sales tab. Don't have system so can't confirm it. Please let me know if that was your question's answer.

Hi SJ,

Like Rajan mentioned what you need to do is little more setup. Create a new substitution reason code using OVRQ. There in config you need to set the outcome to be "B" and leave all other entries as BLANK. Now goto VB11 and create and record with following details.

Substitution reason code = 0010 (lets say this is the new one you have created).

Material Entered = A

Material = A

Double click on the line item, you will go into line item details. There you mention B as the second option and mark the MRP indicator for what ever material you want to raise MRP if no stock is available in A as well as B.

Hi

To consume the material A first you need to maintain record (VB12),A to A,then followed by B in the second line.dont tick the MRP indicator in the first line but in the second so that the B item will be sent to the MRP.

You must use a reason with ATP,(Warning and the strategy not checked in OVRQ)

Hi Sj,

Because you do not want to sell product A you are replacing that with product B. And so you can not sell A.If at all you want to sell you deconfig mat det and finish of the stock.Then you dont require mat det at all.

hi ,,,.. in schedule line u can mention there ......how much quantity u wanna to sell and on which date for tht particular material.

Hi JIK,

In this case material determination will not comes into picture.if you have a stock of Material A Product and you want to sell it individulally means please sale this product as normal item.once the Material A is going to vanish or out dated then only you can use materila Determination concept.
