Hello All,
Process chain functionality of BI also got introduced in SCM 4.1.
Is any one using it for SCM process types for DP, SNP or PPDS?
If yes, do you observed any disadvantages of it against the performance?
Thanks and Regards,
Anjali
I do use process chains for DP and SNP processes in SCM 5.0.
No i have not seen any performance issues.
I suppose the bacground processes would be the same immaterial of the method. Are there any issues you are facing?
There are some advantages of the chain and some advantages of scheduling a job but otherwise it should not matter

Can you check if you have the same issues if you run the programs on a background job. In which case it might be pertinent to the job as such
I believe you are running on a recently upgraded System. Is it SCM 5.0 ?
Also there was a change in the BI version from BW3.X to BI 7 and quite a few changes have taken place. I remember that some of the objects needed to be reactivated and some programs were getting compiled for the first time (though we had tried to get this automated)
What support pack of BI are you on? We had some issues which were sorted out after putting in Support pack 12.
ans got
