Hi,

We have a scenario where our users want to login to old instance of SAP from the new instance without an effort of launching a new window or suppluying login credentials. Is there anyway we can achieve this?

HI

You can go to SM51 and select the instance and click on remote login. You will reach the sap menu of the desired instance.

Hi Debnilay,

Thanks for your answer. The SM51 transaction lists the application servers running under a particular instance. Is it possible to see the application servers of other instances in SM51?

Hi Amit,

One typical scenario is described below:

1. Currently we have multiple instances where the master data are duplicated.

2. So, we'll harmonize the duplicate master data from 3-4 instances and create a new master data record in a new instance.

3. Let's say, 4 material master record from 4 different instances have been harmonized and we create the harmonized material master record in the new instance.

4. Sometimes users while logged into the new instance may also want to see the old material master record in the old system.

5. They want to see the old master data record by clicking some link or button without taking the login effort to another system.

HI Amlesh,

Can't you create and RFC from the new system to the old system and specify the logon data there in that RFC and use the feature of remote logon to login into the old system.
