why client specific forms?

Hi Abappers,

I m new to sap scripting ? so please excuse me if my question is rudimentary. I want to know why a SAP script layout has to be client specific, whats the advantage of it being client specific ? morever why is'nt a smartform client specific

and what are the advantages.

Well come my dear friend, As a abaper u have to know this.

If u create/predefined a script layout that layout is client specific because layouts are stored in one table that table contains first field as mandt . that why it is client specific. sap prient programs are not client specific. becuse print programs are stored in one table that table is client independent.

Smartforms are client independent because when u activate the smartform it will generate the function module. that function module is stored it in table that table is client independent.

Hi,

Script devloped before than Smartform.

Leter it is realised that like program it is better to make it clinet independent.

It is easy to maintain.
