MMC - in Unix (HP)

Hi,

Are there any utility for UNIX like MMC for windows? OR How could I start (may be remotely) and stop SAP server which is runing on HP unix? Thanks,

nope...mmc = <b>microsoft</b> management console

starting ==> startsap R3 | db | all

stopping ==> stosap R3 | db | all

Thanks,No SID associated with start and stop command? If more than one sap is running how would I do? thanks,

Also, could you point me to the documentation where I could find more information about these commands?

If your SAP system is based on release 7.00, you can try the web-based SAP management console.

- check if the process sapstartsrv is running on your SAP instance host

- Java Web Start is required on your local machine

- point your web browser to http://<host>:5xx13 , where <host> is your SAP application server and xx is the SAP instance number

- press start and configure your SAP system

you (usually) invoke these commands using user <sid>adm...(nornally) the environment is set for that user, so no SID necessary....

<b>-> see sapnote 936.273 - sapstartsrv for all platforms..if you're running on 7.00 you could use web based administration of your sap system on unix as well!</b>
