Security design and strategy

user and role administration

coordination with business regarding security activities

testing

SOD Segregation of duties

working with process teams on controls and configurable security

documentation

possibly training and some basis

2. User parameters supply defaults to SAP fields among other uses

3. One should have a broad understanding of the authorization concept, an understanding of both the strengths and weakness of SAP security, understanding the impact of changes, attention to detail down to the authorization level, communication skills and excellent problem solving skills as many issue come through security first--to list a few.

Role

The SAP security administrator’s primary role is to assist in developing and managing SAP as well as overseeing the security of its components.

Skills

The SAP security administrator should have the following skills:

• Basic knowledge of the hardware (HP, Compaq, AS400, etc.)

• Basic knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, Novell, etc.)

• Knowledge of operating system (UNIX, Windows NT, AS400, etc.)

• SAP Basis knowledge

• SAP basic SAP system administration

• SAP basic SAP system monitoring

• SAP advanced SAP authorizations concepts

Responsibilities

The SAP security administrator will be responsible for the following:

• Documenting SAP security polices and procedures

• Creating and publishing forms and change documents

• Creating and maintaining operating system user policies

• Creating and maintaining network, dial-up, and Internet access policies

• Creating and maintaining database user policies

• Creating and maintaining SAP user policies

• Creating and maintaining SAP authorizations and profiles

• Creating and maintaining interface and data files policies and procedures

• Analyzing and resolving security issues

the most important transaction for security purpose which u must view daily include

sm20, which can be configured by sm19, and deleted using sm18.

i would also recommened sm21 for system errors.
