UK GB - leaving date changed but not reflecting in RTI FPS

Hi Team, need you r advice,

Have a question in RTI

1. We have a leaver in pension payroll who left on 25.08.2016

2. In this month payroll we put the leaving date as 31.08.2016 (which is for September 09 period)

3. Because it was trying recover & generating /561, which the business user do not want

4. So they made the leaving date as 31.08.2016, so that it wont generate any /561

5. Now in this period 10 they wanted to change the leaving date from 31.08.2016 to 25.08.2016 & give additional payment to make the net payment ZERO

6. When I executed the RTI, it is giving the leaving date as 31.08.2016 NOT 25.08.2016 As idea about this?

We wanted to report the leaving date as 25.08.2016 in FPS.

is this a standard behaviour

regards

vijay

Hi Guys,

i raised an oss message & got the below response

1. you already reported the 'previous' leaving date on a live FPS file. Is this correct?

2. If it is, there is no need to report the new/corrected leaving date.

3. If leaving date of an EE is revised due to an administrative fault, sending the 'old' leaving date is sufficient as per HMRC's requirement.

4. Excerpt from the corresponding HMRC article (https://www.gov.uk/employee-leaving😞

"If you put the wrong leaving date in your FPS, update your payroll records with the correct date. Don’t report the amendment in your next FPS as this may create a duplicate record for the employee."
