Date range for MRP Run(MD01) to consider requirements

Good day Sap Gurus,

We currently have setup PIR uploaded in the system.

In the previous year 2015, we have certain leftover PIR in some plants that were never included in MRP planning run. Planned orders and PR were never created for these requirements .(MD01 was never run)

We would like to leave these PIR for monitoring purposes but at the same time, when we run MRP for this year, we do not want these to be considered in the planned orders. Is there a way to set a start date for when the requirements will be checked by MD01 ?

We are aware of creating new versions of PIR by activating / deactivating. However, we already use this for a different purpose. Revisions made to PIR are made in versions. Is it possible to achieve this without needing changes in the version?

Hello Noel,

You have two options that system should not consider the demand which is more than the desired date

1. As suggested by forum members you can maintain the consumption mode and consumption period in the material master

2. Create a new line item in MD62 with same version by deactivating the Active tick mark for the desired demand

You can try to use strategy 40 or in mrp 3 view you can Maintain consumption mode  with period

It will consume the Pir which will lie in that period.

This might be possible by the MRP group.

Try This

In OPPR - create new MRP group - In the consumption mode and adjustment period - maintain adjustment periods PIR and adjustment PIR.

Assign this MRP group to the material master where you want the old PIR should not consider.
